Zadní Hrádek

The Place

One hour from Prague.

Twenty minutes from Kolín.

Fifteen minutes from Kutná Hora.

Six hectares of land and no neighbours.

Zadní Hrádek has stood here for more than three hundred years as an independent farm of the Zásmuky estate.

Today the grounds include:
- a movement studio
- an open kitchen and shared living space
- two ponds, one for swimming
- two orchards with more than two hundred fruit trees

Walnut trees, service trees, sweet chestnuts, mulberries, rowans and many other old varieties grow across the land.

There are eighteen garden beds for vegetables and herbs.

We keep bees and hens, along with a few other residents, some invited, some not.

In summer the barn becomes a cinema. The space also works for talks, theatre and small concerts.

Daily activities range from pétanque and swimming to grass cutting, wood splitting and carpentry.

Accommodation is available for sixteen guests in winter.

In summer there is plenty of space for tents and caravans.

For yoga retreats and other regenerative stays we prefer groups of up to twelve people.
