Orchards and Bees

Orchards and Bees

Two young orchards grow here: apple, pear, cherry and plum.

Old fruit trees are scattered across the land — reminders of the long fruit-growing tradition of the farm.

One large cherry tree still produces fruit every year.

The edible grove includes several walnut varieties, hazel trees and four mature sweet chestnuts.

Bees help care for the orchards.

In return we try to disturb them as little as possible.

We take honey once a year, from a single hive box.

The hives sit in a small apiary in the orchard.

It is even possible to sleep there.
